Modular Toy is a small, independent maker. Every email is read by the person who wrote the app, and questions about why something doesn't work usually turn into fixes.

Email hello@modulartoy.cc. Put the app's name in the subject, and it helps a lot to include:

• the app's version (in its settings, help or about screen)
• your device and system version: the Mac or PC and macOS or Windows version, or the phone and Android or iOS version
• for Lanes and Mutineer, the audio interface, controller or synths involved
• what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead

Common questions

Lanes only sees two channels of my interface. Lanes records every channel of interfaces that use USB Audio Class 1. Interfaces that use USB Audio Class 2 currently fall back to the two channels Android provides. Support for them is the next big step. Please email the interface's name: it tells us which ones to test first.

Lanes took over my interface and nothing else can play through it. That's expected while Lanes is recording from it directly. Close Lanes, or unplug and replug the interface, and Android gets it back.

Layer Studio says it needs to download something the first time. The first split downloads the picture-understanding models (about 55 MB) once. After that everything works offline, and your pictures never leave your device.

Which cutting machines does Layer Studio work with? Any machine whose software opens SVG or DXF files, including Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Studio. Layer Studio makes the cut files; you cut them in your machine's own software.

Do the apps collect my data? No. None of them has accounts, advertising, analytics or tracking. Each app's privacy page has the details.
